8 months

what?

8 months and I'll have finished my MFA.

this is craziness.

my second and FINAL year of grad school has started and is in full swing. I have ideas for a new project about commodification.

currently I am:

volunteering for PICA with the TBA Festival and loving it. There's a lot to see and I'm enjoying meeting new people.

TA'ing (yes I know that's not correct, but how else do you write it?) for a foundations class at PNCA. I'm assisting in a 2D design class and have really enjoyed working with my mentor teacher.

working with Nan Curtis as my studio mentor again and already our conversations have been great. I think this year is going to be one of a lot of growth and serious challenges that I am eager to take on.

oh- also... I'm moving to the east side.

because this seems like the perfect time to move... heh heh

Tyler Stuart and I are showing work this month at The Lodge Gallery at Allied Works Architecture, 1532 Southwest Morrison Street, Portland, OR.

a reception is in the works for a Thursday later in the month... stay tuned.

what to do, what to do

i keep waking up early and in a semi state of panic thinking that i should already be somewhere...

oh yaaaah. school's out.

our first year show is coming up and i'm really excited about that.

i'll be making t-shirts. or should i say remaking tshirts???

half master of the fine arts

i had my first year review on monday. it went well and i passed.

it was an interesting experience. one i wish i hadn't been so anxious about.

so now i have a paper to finish writing and a teaching packet to put together before the end of the term and then i will officially be half of a master.

i got a lot of positive feedback from my review and will me meeting with my mentors and dept. chair to discuss the comments that were made.

(after "congratulations" everything they told me is really fuzzy.)

all in all a pretty great year. looking forward to diving into research and investigating new ideas, theories, artists... and post modernism. heh heh.
