benny & joon

that movie is on tv right now.

the song that plays in the opening credits is "500 miles" which makes me think of my friend Marguerite, who coincidentally is in town and we're going to get together tomorrow for the first time in oh say... 10 years??

benny & joon

also wrote about the peculiar nature of the missed communication/ connection between characters in this movie one year ago (almost exactly.)

something kind of nice about this feeling right now. like one of those cliche "i've come full circle" moments. i looked back at that blog entry from 10.07.08 to re read what i'd written about benny & joon and everything else.

seems like so long ago...

i'll be better about blogging. the way i used to.
try to be better.
be better.
better.

studio visit today with Ward Shelley.

without going into too much detail i'll just say that it went well and my ever looming sense of self doubt was blown away for a while...

apparently i am making some "smart decisions" with this new piece.

i'll post better pics and a link to the video later, but for now this is all you get:

final reviews

i can't believe it's over.
like... OVER over.
not just the term is over.

no more late nights in the white stag... although technically we're still students until what... the 12th?

movies in the screening room anyone?

reviews went well.
really well.
there were only 2 faculty members who i hadn't ever really talked about my work with... so i was expecting a lot of the same feedback.
wrong.
some nice new insights and critical commentary.
Bryson told me later that he learned some new things about me.

the show was great.
i'm so pleased.
it was nice to talk about my work with people who aren't as familiar with it as my fabulous classmates and professors.

really nice. unexpectedly nice... : )

i got a lot of positive feedback and some nice ides for possible directions to take in grad school.
GRAD SCHOOL.

how does it all happen soo fast?
